Let's take a little break from contest entries~~~~~

Since I slowed down a bit from stamping, I have taken a little time to do some projects here and there. I want to share one with you now. It was the "oh, I'll do that later" chore chart that I've been thinking about for a LONG time. I had the chore part made up, but wanted to do it "Wendy" style. Which means, to make it look cute by stamping and dressing it up with paper. Of course, I wanted to make it "kid proof" so that required some clear contact paper on it too. Hubby just got that "oh brother, what's she going to stamp next now that she's resigned" look in his eyes when he saw it (although I think he was impressed with it too). LOL!

Here's what I came up with:

I used TAC's summertime boys and Apple Girls sets to stamp images of 4 kids. I also used my scalloped circle punch and circle punch for the markers for each of my kids. I colored each stamped image with my copic markers. I colored the "kids" to look like my kids. They thought it was cool of mom to color them like that. I even covered the scalloped circles with contact paper on the front and back and then re-punched them so the contact paper is scalloped the same as the circle (I wasn't going to hand cut all those scallops)

So, each day my kids switch the markers so that the kid that looks like them is on the list for their chores that day. The master list is typed up so that each day has the chores already divided up and ready to go (each grouping of chores is assigned a letter from A-D). Then all the kids have to do is find the coordinating detailed "list" with the right letter on it, and move their kid marker on it for the day.

The chart has worked very well and has made divying(sp?) up housework a much easier task for mom. Does it stop the whining you may ask?!?!?!? Well, nothing is that good! LOL!!! There's still the occasional grumble, but the kids also like knowing what's expected of them for the day instead of being "surprised".

Well, I hope this makes sense to you as you read it. I kind of struggled with the wording a little bit.

More winners!

So, I'm back to share some more of my contest winners with you. This was one of my winners back in January 2010. It was for the contest Card to Crop. Now, I had never actually won this contest ever before, but I managed to win it this month. Very cute story goes along with this entry. I'm not a big picture person, so this contest is always a stretch for me to find pictures to go with. Well, I was creating entries in late December after the holidays and ws very pressed for time to get them done and in the mail. So, I was frantically trying to find a picture to use for this contest category. Well, I remembered all those beautiful pictures I received in my Christmas cards and ran out to my kitchen where I hang all the Christmas pictures we receive and grabbed this picture off the wall. Now, before you think I used a picture of some unsuspecting friend or relative, rest assured, I called and checked with this certain friend/relative that it was ok to use their picture. So, now you know the answer to your question--this picture is NOT me or my family. Most of my blog readers (the few of you there are) will know who they are. ;0) The idea for the contest is to create a card and a coordinating scrapbook page to go with it. I used TAC's Amelia paper line(SWIC and cardstock), my fav Decorative Corners stamp set and the coordinating Amelia tags and ribbon. I also used one of TAC's very own sketches located in the front of their current catalog to design the project. Of course a sanding block was used around the pictures to "blend" the edges and make it coordinate better. The white ink I used was the Brilliance moonlight white. The card was done the same way, but used TAC's Thank U set instead of where the picture went on the scrapbook page.This little guy was the winner of the creatively colored creations category. He was supposed to be pictured filled with Bubble bath accessories (lotion, bath salts, etc), but they didn't make it to the picture. Oh well, he's just as cute empty. This is a little basket/box that I've been making quite regularly around here lately. I got the idea for one of my parties. We put scalloped circle punches on the front and back. I think you can find the template online as a nestabilities box or something like that. Well, I loved making the box so much, I adapted it for the holidays. I put a smaller scalloped circle on the front and back so the box stands on it's own and used the little bear set from TAC (the one pictured below) to create a scene of a bear drinking cocoa. Then I filled the basket/box with hot cocoa fixings and gave them as gifts for the holidays. I'll have to find a picture of one of them if I still have one floating around. (this idea is the one I built off of to create my "mug" that I shared with you last time). So the little bear (which I LOVE to make a polar bear by just shading around him with gray marker or colored pencil is taking a bath. How cute it that? A polar bear taking a hot bath. LOL!!! Then I used liquid applique and my heat gun to create cool 3D bubbles for his bath. I also used versamagic ink and my embossing powder to make the swirls in the background a little 3D as well. I had a lot of fun creating this guy. I was very excited when I won.

I had another entry that was going to be a winner, but the rules are that you can only win 2 contests per month. I believe that's a very good and fair rule. Anyway, I don't have a picture of that entry because my camera was out that day and I didn't get pictures of my entries. I remember it was a cute skiing penguin on one of TAC's clear coasters with a pewter frame at the bottom of the card. I believe it used the Reece SWIC /Cardstock and coordinating ribbon and hardware. It was a very CUTE card and I apologize that I can't share it with you.

I'm back again. This time I have some more TAC news to share. It's not the happiest news, but it's something I need to share with you all. As some of you already know, I have decided that in the best interest of my family and myself to hang up my angel wings. After 5 1/2 years with The Angel Company, I have resigned and have decided to branch out into new avenues with my life. Now, this has NOTHING to do with The Angel Company. This has everything to do with my life and the season I am at in motherhood, wifehood, agehood, and lots of other hoods too. LOL!!! I've decided to concentrate on my health, my husband, my children, and my home. At this time, this leaves no other time for a business.

I am still stamping and scrapbooking for my own personal enjoyment and since this hasn't happened in the last 5 years, I am very excited about personal projects again. I hope to share my projects with you all. I do have LOTS of contest entry pictures to share with you all still.

Here is one of them now. This is by far the MOST exciting and fun contest entry I ever made for The Angel Company's contests. The title of the contest was Cup of Tea. Now, I am a hot cocoa drinker and thought about how cool it would be to create a "mug" out of paper to hold the makings of an exceptional cup of hot cocoa (mix, marshmallows, candy canes, and CHOCOLATE). So, that's exactly what I did. I designed this project myself and that's probably why it's one of my favorites.

This is made using the more mimi paper collection from TAC, and their Sending a Latte stamp set. I also made up a bunch of these mugs for each person attending my cookie exchange this year. As I gave each one their gift, I simply told them I made them a cup of cocoa to enjoy!!!! They really loved them (I think;0).

Well, it's been a while and life has been crazy! I have a LOT of TAC news to share. 'Tis the season for our newest Serendipity book to release. Quick website info

I just wanted to address something really quick. If you are a shopper on my TAC website, you've probably noticed that I'm not able to be found anymore. I did not opt to renew my website contract this year. Rest assured, I AM still an angel and you can still order through me. The only difference is that you only have the option of ordering directly through me now.

Well, for the diehard shoppers, I've already told you that the best way to get all the big goodies through TAC (hostess sets, 1/2 price items, etc) was to order directly through me. So this change in my TAC shoppoing website doesn't really affect you very much. As I told you before, you couldn't take advantage of the hostess items through my TAC shopping site anyway

So, my website really just served as a reference ground for my customers to see the catalog and products and then order from me. You can still do that by pulling up someone elses website and looking to see what TAC is offering, or drop me a line and we'll get the catalog directly to you so you have something to reference as well.

Again, rest assured, I am still here so just email me or call me with your orders and we'll get them ordered and delivered to you just like I've always done. Everything is still the same except for my TAC shopping website being cancelled.

Stamp sets on Special

Well, I don't know what to really tell you about the answer to that question. Although, I agree I've been delinquent in the stamping/inspiring/business area--rest assured the rest of my life has been far from delinquent. LOL!!! Enough said about the boring stuff. So, what's been going on with TAC. Well to put it into one word --TONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TAC has been running their double hostess benefits program again these past couple months, and we just received word that they will be continuing to run this program from Oct. 1 through the end of the year. YAHOO!! I know my mother was trying to squeeze a party into her busy schedule, but didn't make it at this time. So this is good news for her--and YOU!! The promotion is slated to run from October 1 through December 30th. All the hostess sets and hostess 1/2 price items will be doubled during this time. I won AGAIN!!!

Ok, so I don't know what is going on, but I'm loving it!!!! I just found out I WON another TAC contest. If you want to see where on the TAC website go here to find them. I won the Terrific Trio contest for the month of July. I had these made on my counter in my craft room and my friend Laurie came in and saw them and said she loved them. So, that made me start to wonder if I had a chance to win the contest. Well, I actually did win. Again, I was looking at the winners with my daughter and when my name showed, the screaming, happy dance ensued and she looked at me like I was insane. So, what's with my family thinking I'm insane about rubber stamping (hmmmm......maybe they are onto something--NAH!!!). So, here are the winning creations(again, thanks for putting up with my sharing (err, bragging). LOL!!!:

They all used the Amberly grace paper, cardstock, ribbon and hardware. The stamp sets I used were Decorative corners and our beach set from the Serendipity magalogue. I used Versamagic ink from our catalog as well.

My BIGGIE news!!!

Ok, so you've waited long enough for the biggie news I had to share!!!! I wanted to share with you all that I received my newest TAC catalog and like any good stamping demonstrator I began on the back page that lists all the names of the demonstrators that contributed to the catalog. Well, much to my surprise, my name WAS on the list. Well, after I finished screaming and jumping up and down and explaining my insane behavior to my family (whom I happened to be visiting at that time) I began to search for which of my creations made it into the new catalog. With my 13 year old looking over my shoulder, we randomly began flipping through the catalog. Well, all of a sudden the page flipped to the back again where TAC places their inspirational project cards and both sets of our eyes focused on this particular project card at the same moment. And then the screaming began again -- except this time it accompanied the words, "I'm a project card, I'm a project card" over and over again. So, yet again after explaining the insane behavior to my family (who was really beginning to think I was over reacting -- but what do they know) I did calm down and enjoy the rest of the day (with a huge smile on my face).

So, I thought I'd share the pictures of the project card (and yes, the page with my name on it too) with you all. So, here they are:

This is the inpsirational project card of my project. It's a pocket (with chocolate in it) that I designed. My daughter, Aponi actually helped me with the details. She insisted on the eyelets to make it more "real". :

I have been "Blogged"!!!

Imagine my surprise to pull up the TAC savy projects blog on the TAC website homepage and find 2 of my contest entries being blogged about!!! I about fell off my chair. I had entered 2 entries in the Patriotic Paper Play contest for TAC and neither of them won, but they did make it into Mischelle's blog on July 4th in celebration of the Fourth of July. I'm always thrilled to see my contest entries being acknowledged (that way I know they didn't suffer a gruesome paper project death on the way there). We mother's always want to know our children arrived safe and sound to their destination. Not to mention, I enjoy seeing my name in print. :0) Want to see what I'm talking about. Check out THIS link! Mother's Day Project

Below are some pictures of the Mother's Day gift that we gave my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I also stamped a project for my mother, but forgot to take pictures of it (blonde moment). I started with this cool metal purse that I found at my local thrift shop and altered it with some ribbons and filled it with quilt cards. Now, my mother-in-law is an avid quilter. Fabric is her thing and she LOVES to sew. So, I decided to make her some cards (that look like quilts) so she can add them to her "gifts" for people and look coordinated. She loved them (and I do too). So, here they are: This is the purse all altered and filled. This is what it looked like when we gave it to her.

Below, is probably my favorite card out of the whole bunch. I am partial to plum and circles, and love how this came out.

This next card has a baby theme to it. It says "with love" on the inside of it (through the punched square) The quilt part is layered and very cool looking up close:

This is another of the cards. It has faux stiching around the outside for a more "quilted" look:

This card is actually square. At this point in my project, I was beginning to warm up to the whole quilting thing and was actually starting to "add" elements to the patterns as I went. If you will look, all my quilt blocks have brads at the seems which is my way of "tying off" the quilt block.

This is yet another of the cards. This one had people on the paper. All the paper I used had a vintage feel to it. My mother-in-law is an avid vintage material fan. So that is why I chose a vintage feel to all the cards. And this is the inside of that card:

On more card. I loved how this came out too. I'm a brown fan, so the feel of this card was fun to make.

And this is how the inside of that card looks: Well, those are my quilt cards. I had so much fun making those. I'm still working on the pictures of my craft room. I found the 'before" photos--now I just need to get the after ones taken. For those of you who are dying to see it--than, yes, the counter top and wall you see in all of these photos is the counter and wall color of my craft room. I know some of you have been chatting about what it looks like. (And Cindy, Laurie is coming over to stamp with me on Thursday to try out the new room--so you'll have to ask her about it). :0) Have a great day.

I'm BACK!!!!!

Well, what a long time it has been. I only planned to take a couple months off and that turned into about 3 or more. Many things have happened during my absence. Some of them great and some of them miracles. One thing that JUST happened is the completion of my craft room. I believe I have finally found all my supplies and have them organized in the room. WHEW!!! That was a task. Thanks to my mom for helping me with that (she's super terrific at organizing--plus that's something I enjoy too). So we had a really good time doing it. It was a bit overwhelming at times, but we finished. I even allowed my mom to stamp the first card out of there. And in her own words, "this room feels like a little store -- it's so fun to stamp in". So, have I teased you enough. Well, you'll have to wait until I break out the camera and take some pictures of it. And then I can share it with you all. LOL!!!

Well, where exactly have I been???? Well, I've been focusing more on my family, school, and house. Therefore, there has been no stamping. Yes, I am surviving. But I come to you today because I did stamp at the end of February and entered TAC's contests again and I have terrific news to share with you all. I have managed to win another contest. I do my best stamping when it combines with Chocolate.

I'll try to post a couple more "side" view pictures soon so you can see the chocolate inside of it and get a better idea of what the project was really all about.

Final post of the year!

Ok, so this is my final post of the year. I'm taking approximately the next month off from blogging, stamping, etc. for family and personal reasons. I plan to be back mid to late January raring to go. TAC is releasing a new Magalogue (it's like a magazine supplement to our catalog). TAC is changing things up and they will be releasing one main catalog at the end of June and then twice a year in fall and spring, they will release a Magalogue with seasonal stamps, new embellishments, and new products. They will be comparable in size to a magazine. This is going to allow things to not be so confusing with 2 catalogs a year and supplements and all kinds of other things.

Late January is when the first Magalogue will be released. I will have them available to customers that want to see them at the end of January.

Oh, another little tidbit is with only one main catalog a year TAC is returning to having stamp sets shown at 100% of original size in the catalog. This will end the guessing game of how big a particular image really is.

I don't have a price on the magalogues as of yet. TAC is very excited and so am I. I'm hoping to get back in the swing or taking orders, demonstrating at home parties, and promoting my stamping business!!

One last thing before I go. I want you all to keep an eye on the TAC website come January. I was asked to design samples for the January Stamp of the Month. I was very honored and tried my best. As for as I know, they should be featured on the stamp of the month page come January. You will see a sample picture with my name underneath and just click on the picture to see all my samples that I made. So, I'm going to finish the year out with this last non-winning contest entry. I just LOVED how these cards came out, but alas, they didn't win.

This last card actually had 3 copper eyelets in the bottom right corner under the rip. I put them on after I took the picture. I thought the card needed a little more added to it.

Ok, so Martha Stewart I am NOT. I fell off the wagon after day 14 and have not jumped back on as of yet. We planned a surprise birthday party for our daughter so I was cleaning crazy woman for 3 days straight. It needed a good cleaning. I just hope my kids help keep it clean (I know--I'm dreaming) until the holidays are over.

So, I'm avoiding the schoolroom and the rest of the school day and I thought I'd share a few more of my non-winning contest entries with you all.

Here's another one:

This is my Card to Crop entry. You have to create a scrapbook page and a card that are similar. I grabbed a picture of my son blowing out his birthday candles and created this scrapbook page using our new party/invitation set. I then created an "invitation" card to go with it. I loved this entry and really thought I had a great idea to possibly win this one (I always think that--I guess that's the confidence you need in order to enter). Well, it didn't win, but that's ok because another one of my entries won that month (the basket with the peppermint patties). Anyway, it give me more material to share with you here on my blog.

So, it's late in my "time" book and I wanted to do something more for the kids today. So today's countdown project is SUPER simple. I figure it's the thought that counts anyway. I'm too tired to be creative. So here's what I stamped for them today.

ps. I put them on their pillows and they simply LOVED them. They were so excited that I did it again. Now they are "hoping" that I give them each day until Christmas. Yikes---What have I started!!!

Christmas countdown project

So, I decided to try a little project for my kids. Since it's only 15 days until Christmas, I decide to make them a little candy countdown for today. Now, don't expect me to do the next 14 days, but I thought it'd be neat if I could pull it off. Well, we'll see. At least I got one in. LOL!!!

So, here's the picture of the super simple project that I made for them:

This is the "gift" as it looked when I gave it to them. I used one of my new stamp sets from TAC that I received free with my winnings from the last contest win. I've loved this set and have wanted it for a long time. I used an empty Gift with purchase container and filled it with (you guessed it) 15 M&M's (for the number of days left). I punched a giga square from red cardstock and matted it with the white I stamped with the "days 'til Christmas" stamp. Of course, I inked the edges to help with the "look" of it. Super simple! BTW, I know the M&M's are not Christmas colors. I needed pink ones for a super secret project I was working on for The Angel Company. So these are my extras from the projct. I'll be able to tell you about it soon I hope.

This is a picture of the inside when it's open. I put in a little slip of paper with a "wish list" stamped on it. I told them to fill out what they "wish" to do before Christmas. I gave them examples of bake cookies, watch a Christmas movie, go window shopping, etc. They actually LOVED that part and are dilligently filling them out as we speak. So, this is a super simple project, but I like how it came out. It was especially fun to do something for my kids. They just love it when I stamp for them. And they always hold on to the stamped projects that I do as well. Which is more than I can say that I do for myself.

I am soo excited to be able to share this with you. I won another one of TAC's contests. I usually post my non-winning entries for you all to see, but this time, I get to post a WINNER!!! I can't believe it. It really made my day (and boy did I need a bright spot in my day).

Here's what my winning entry looks like:

I was blog surfing a while back and saw this idea on someone's blog. Here's the link of where I got the original idea. That women is SUPER talented. I took the idea and tweaked it the way I like and of course that would also mean using TAC's products to make it. I did alter her pattern. I used only one piece of 6x6 paper and did use my scor-pal to score it into 2" equal size squares. That means I scored the paper at 2" and 4" and then turned it and scored it the other way at 2" and 4" which makes a grid. Then I cut it like she did and folded it up and made the basket. I could try to do a little tutorial if someone needs to see one.

This week I am working on a surprise project that I can't mention to you until after the first of the new year. I am VERY honored and excited to work on it and can't wait to share it with you come January.

I hope you all have a terrific beginning to December. I'm praying December runs a lot smoother than November for the Johnson family.

Stamping Challenge

So, I've been lurking over at the Oz-somestamps blog and she does a Monday Sketch. I've been wanting to participate, but never got around to it. So today, I decided that all that would change. I put my mind to it and did her monday sketch. Problem is, my camera. After a few unsuccessful tries, I decided to try scanning it. I'm not a big fan of scanning cards when taking pictures of them seems more "real" looking, but I was desperate. Here's my card: I used the brown cardstock that TAC carries with their Rustic Chic collection. I don't know if you've ever seen a brown snowflake, but this one is actually embossed with copper embossing powder. I went for a "rich" feel to the card. I put an overhead as an overlay over the card and stamped snowflakes with white Brilliance ink in the corner. I inked the edges of the card with Burnt Umber and White Brilliance. I like how it came out. I believe I'll try the challenge again sometime.

PS. A little addition to this post. My DD (age 12 3/4) came up to me and asked who made the card that's laying on the ironing board(Yes, most of my stamp work ends up hanging out on the ironing board--it's one of the safest places in the house. Why, you say? Well, we're not opening that can of worms regarding the 4 homeschooled kids, remodeling still going on, and missing walls, etc.). So, back to my story. My DD asks who made the card on the ironing board. I looked at her and said I did. She gave me a look like "you've got to be kidding". She liked the card. So I guess it's a keeper. She's been my help/critic since I started stamping. If I get the thumbs up from her, I go with it. It's especially special because she reaches her teenage years next month. Just thought I would share.

I got a few minutes to spare and thought I would share some more of my contest "non-winners" with you. I just entered again this month, so I will have more material to share with you in a few weeks. I have to wait until the official winners are announced and then I can share my entries with you.

But today, I have some nice ones to share with you. The first one is my old Terrific Trio entry with our frog set. I LOVED these cards and was VERY confident in entering them, but alas, they didn't win. So, that's ok because it gives me something to share with you here on my blog!

I was hoping my picture would show up larger, but you get the idea anyway. It's looking like I used the mimi collection with our brown cardstock as the base paper on each card. I see the scalloped circle punch used on the third card over and I punched holes in it to create a "lace" type look. I used my crop-a-dile for that. I love that thing. It can punch through multiple sheets of paper all at one time. I believe I colored the frogs with my aquacolor crayons and blended them with a blender pen. They were a beautiful bright green. I see a loopy brad on the second card with some ribbon tied on it. I love doing that. I hope you like these cards as much as I do.

I also am showing you a card that I created with our flamingo set. I can't remember the contest name, but it was something to make you think fancy and flashy. I loved how this card came out as well. I used glue and glitter to create the sparkly scarf. The brads were a lot of fun to add as well.

Last is this card. Not one of my favorite entries, but the contest name was something like New and original card elements. I created the black flower affects by taking the same stamp and stamping it once, lifting it slightly and rotating it and stamping it again and then lifting it again and rotating it and stamping it a third time. All without reinking it. I like the techinique,but the card wasn't one of my favorites. I still entered it because hey, you just never know what's going to win.

Another non-winner

These are the cows that I entered in a Terrific Trio. I absolutely loved how they came out, but alas, they did not win. This was the same month I sent in the bunny Easter card that did win. Here they are:

As you can see they are laying in the middle of my craft table in the aftermath of my stamping frenzy. I used TAC An Udder Birthday set along with one of their saying sets. I used Mimi paper, cardstock, ribbon and hardware on each of the cards. I also paper pieced the moon the cow was sitting on. I colored in with auqacolor crayons, watercolor pencils and my blending pen. I see my scalloped circle punch used on one of the cards.

Enjoy some inspiration. I hope to find some again soon.

My blog is working properly again. So, I'm going to quickly post some more of my non-winning contest entries. I don't believe I've shared this one before. This is a scrapbook page I made with a picture I took of Aponi at the zoo last year. I love how this picture came out. It seemed the lion layed right in front of the glass to pose for a picture. I told Aponi to get in front of the glass and she did. Everything worked out great. That is a miracle for me since I'm not a photo person. I used TAC's Amberly Grace collection. Also used the coordinating cardstock, ribbon and some of their hardware as well.

This is an entry that was supposed to do with living life in full color. I made this using pictures of the girls as they donated hair to lock of love. For Aponi it was the 2nd time, but her sister was only donating for the first time. I loved this entry and kind of wished I hadn't sent it in. I'd like to have it back for my own use. At least I took a picture so it can be duplicated. I used TAC's Miss Moxie collection of paper, cardstock, ribbon and hardware. Also used some of our Bitty Blossoms that we sell. I see the ink looks like Palette l'amore red and the stamps are looking like Artsy Elements and Lola-bet uppers and lowers along with Needed Numbers(which just retired this past catalog).

I hope this inspires you to go and create today!

Below is an updated chart that goes in affect on July 15th. For the abbreviated version of what it says keep reading: The Angel company has been forced to eliminate the half-price booking bonus item. All the rest of the hostess benefits remain the same. Although the hostesses loose one of their half-price items, TAC has still kept the option of using the other 1/2 price item on ANYTHING in the catalog. The other option they were thinking of was to limit ALL 1/2 price items to be used only on TAC paper and stamps. I like that they kept it affective for ANYTHING in the catalog instead. We have some really cool tools in the back of our catalog and I'm thrilled to still be able to offer them to my hostesses at 1/2 price.

Effective July 15, 2008, the Hostess Half Price Program will operate as follows:

For FUNshop Net Sales between:

• $100-249.99 hostesses may select 1 half price item from any item in our current catalogue.

• $250-499.99 hostesses may select 2 half price items from any items in our current catalogue.

• $500-749.99 hostesses may select 3 half price items from any items in our current catalogue.

•$750 and above hostesses may select 4 half price items from any items in our current catalogue.

The Booking Bonus Half Price Item is being eliminated and will no longer be available on any order beginning July 15, 2008.

Contest Entries!

I've been entering some of TAC's contests in the last year. I have been more diligent with entries for the last few months. While not all of my entries have been winners, I've loved them and been proud to enter them. I've decided to share some of the non-winners with you here on my blog. Check these out: These are my last Terrific Trio entry. They use TAC's An Udder Birthday set. I loved how they came out. The paper, cardstock, ribbon and hardware is from TAC's Mia's cottage set. I was thrilled to find out that at least 2 of these cards were displayed at The Angel Company's seminar on their sample boards. And someone got to take them home at the end of the Seminar. I just saw pictures of them there, I didn't actually get to go. I love the card at the right because to make the cow white I grabbed my white extreme gel pen and colored her in. I thought she was adorable. I tried some paper piecing on the inner tube for the cow card in the middle. While they didn't win the contest, I was proud to enter them.

This flamingo card was entered in the So girly contest (or something named like that). I used paper piecing for the "fur wrap" and applied the Kissy fit brads and some mini blossoms and a shimmer brad for embellishements. I used TAC's uptown girl paper (which I love) and also used TAC's Tickled Pink set from the catalog. I've fallen in love with that set. I never thought I would. It's one of the sets I earned free when I won the first contest with TAC.

I Won AGAIN!!

I just had to share this with you. I know some of you enjoy hearing about what I do with my stamping. Well, this time I am thrilled to say that I won another contest with TAC. I was sooo surprised that I almost fell off my chair when I saw my name. I've never won contests before, but have been able to win 2 in the last 2 months. I am so thrilled (and thank God for this blessing). My husband was there when I found out and he just stood there and smiled shaking his head. He couldn't believe how excited I got! So now that I've peaked your attention, I'll post the pictures of the winning cards. Plus you can see them on the TAC website here

I got a little crazy last month and decided to enter ALL 5 contests for TAC last month. Well, this was done in true Wendy style. Meaning I procrastinated until the last day to mail the entries and had to stamp all 5 contest entries on one day. Hee-hee! Well, the contest I won was the last contest I had to stamp for and I was so tired and so creatively exhausted that I literally took three 1/4 sheets of cardstock and put them on my table and just started layering things on top that I could grab ahold of. I knew I wanted to use TAC's skunk set and it paired so well with the More abundance set. On the card with the ripped paper, I grabbed the sheet of paper and literally said, "I thinkI'll rip something on this card" and just ripped the paper. Then the one with rounded corners I just grabbed the old corner rounder and went to town. Imagine my surprise when that's the entry that won. I was really hoping this scrapbook page I did of my son at the pumpkin farm would win, but it didn't. I'll have to see if I can find a good picture of the entry and share it with you all some day.

So, do you think I learned my lesson and got all my contest entries done early this month? NOT. But I can tell you that I did learn my lesson this month and will be starting early for next month. LOL!!!!

Anyway, I don't know if winning will EVER happen again, so I'm telling myself to enjoy this now.

#1 The end of the catalog is coming to a close and if you want any of the retiring stamps you need to "snatch" them now before they are gone for good.

My new signature!!

I just had to try out my new signature. I saw it on someone else's blog and just had to try to get one for myself. If you want one for yourself then try this ladies blog . It took me a bit (since I'm all self-taught when it comes to the computer world). I was hoping my "d" wasn't going to cut off on the signature, but hey-- you get what you get (esp. when it's FREE). Oh and by the way-- that is NOT my actual signature. I wanted something more fancy and "artful" than what I really write.

I Actually WON a contest!!!!

This is a picture of my card that won a TAC card contest last month. The contest category was Easy for Easter. I saw a card that used brown paper and the scalloped circle punch in a magazine I was reading and loved it. So like any good stamper, I adapted the idea to fit the stamps and paper that I wanted and the result was this card. I used TAC's No bunny like you set. After I stamped the chick/bunny stamp in the circle, I colored in the chick, bunny and egg with TAC's glaze gelly pens and then I colored the grass with Prismacolor watercolor pencils and used a blender pen to soften the look. All the paper and ribbon I used featured TAC's Mimi collection. I just loved the look of all of it once it was done. You can't see it, but the card is actually folded at the top and bottom and has a seem in the middle of the card. So the top half opens UP and the bottom half opens DOWN. The brown strip is attached to the scalloped circle and it slides off the card so the recipient can open it. It's like a paper "band" to hold the card. I think this particular fold is called a gatefold or something like that. To be honest, I didn't think it had a chance of winning, but I was mailing in some entries for a couple other contests (I really thought I had a great chance of winning Terrific Trio--I'll have to post those cards another day) so I thought, hey, why not--and put the card in the package and mailed it off. I couldn't believe it when my friend Christina was on my answering machine hinting that I needed to go check out the website. My twelve year old daughter thought I had gone nuts when I started jumping up and down and screaming, "I won, I won, I REALLY won." LOL!!! Believe me, it took quite a few days to sink in that I actually won a contest. I've been trying for a while. I didn't always enter every month, but tried to enter quite regularly. Well, I hope you get inspired by the card. So head out to your stamp space and stamp a project today!

Where have I been?!?!?!?!?

I'm not quite sure where I've been in regards to my stamping realm. I guess I would have to say I've spent more time in the mommy/wife realm lately. Either way though, it's time to post some inspiration and show you what we've been stamping lately. These first couple cards are some cards my daughter Aponi and I made for my sister-in-laws care package of cards we sent to her. She was attending college in England for the semester. All of us stamped cards and I still have the black stained stamps to show for it. LOL!!! The kids always amaze me with how creative they are. They are quite awesome with ideas and just whip out cards without hesitation. They sure don't get that from their mom. Here's a couple scans of the cards Aponi and I made. Can you guess who made which one?

The top card is Aponi's (although I wish I could take credit for it--I think it's a terrific idea) and the bottom card is mine. I've really been enjoying using those sweet skunks on a lot of my projects lately. Notice those white "circles" on the bottom of my card. I found that tip on a fellow demonstrator's blog. It's soo fun and EASY to do--drop me an email if you want to know how I put those on there by hand.

Aponi's card uses TAC's easter set. Her paper piecing is terrific! In fact, she used the same Easter set that I used on my winning contest entry. I'll try to get my winning card posted soon and let you all know ALL about it.

Challenge of the Day!

The Challenge of the day-- what can you do with a premade big lots pack of cards????

Here's the card from a pack I picked up at the old Big lots for a dollar:

Now comes the question--What can you do with it? And better yet--What can you do with it in less than 10 minutes??

With the first card, I just punched a scalloped circle punch and used the crimper in the middle of it. I inked the ridges of the crimping and inked the edges of the circle. Then I looped my black/white ribbon through those awesome loopy brads. For a little added punch to my black and white monochromatic card, I chose a pink accented loopy brad. I think it gives it a little "pop". I stamped an image from one of TAC's flourishes set. Then I just mounted it to the card.

Second project, I took a baseball card protector and cut from the card a piece of paper to fit in the protector. I ripped the edge and slipped a white cardstock piece behind the rip to help see the rip. Then I put some black/white ribbon folded together and stapled it. Then I took the old Crop o dile and set an eyelet right in the middle of the ribbon. Slipped it all in the protector and punched holes in the top and threaded ribbon through. This makes a great hanging thank you so the recipient can hang your creation for a thank you that lasts a long time. I got this idea from a friend of mind who did it for me. Here is her "thank you" picture next to the one I tried. Thanks Laurie for the inspiration.

Cookie Swap Gifts!

I saw these folder pocket books and knew I had to make them. So what better way to do that than to give them as gifts for my cookie swappers. So, I sat down and designed them one day while the house was quiet (you guessed it--Nap time!!). I was a little stressed about it because it was the weekend before the swap was to be held. I had to give myself a deadline by which to make them, and if I didn't make the deadline, I was going to give up with the idea. Well, thankfully I made it well before the deadline. After design was done, I set out to cut the supplies and make them for my guests. I used TAC's Merry Wishes Christmas paper and was soooo excited because it all coordinated so nicely. The fronts looked like this (each person's was personalized for them--that was my daughter's idea). Everything fit together sooo smoothly. From the black cord to tie them together down to the ribbon and covered eyelets. Not to mention I found my scoring blade within minutes of when I wanted it (that hasn't happened in well over a year-- I can never find that thing when I need it). I had a terrific time making them.

This is what they look like completely open. You can see each pocket is labeled with the names of the cookie recipes that are in the pocket. Everyone's cookies were on there and I just slipped the recipe cards in the pockets as each guest arrived with their recipe cards.

This is what the back looks like. I just couldn't skip the back, because I love how it looks completely covered with TAC's awesome Merry Wishes paper.

Cookie Swap - 2007

So, I asked hubby if I could host a cookie swap this year. By the way, he just graduated from College with his Master's degree. We are done with our 6 year journey to him receiving his higher education. WAHOO!!!!!! And because of this momentous occasion, I asked him if I could resume some of the fun "normal" holiday things that I like to do. And #1 on the list was a cookie swap. It wasn't huge, just most of his immediate family with lives very close and an adopted family friend (she's our adopted sister). And don't forget my mom--She's my helper when it comes to cleaning and setting up. Thanks MOM!!!

So, I got the go ahead from hubby, and then of course said to myself, "Self--don't kill yourself trying to make this super nice." LOL!!!!!!!!! Sorry, wrong conversation. It was more like, "Self-- you better incorporate every "Martha Stewart" type idea you've been wanting to try". There's that the real conversation. LOL!!!!!

So where to begin--why the INVITATIONS of course. In fact, I told my guests that was one of the main reasons for having the swap--so I could make the invitations. :0)

What's a cookie swap invitation with a cookie, right??? So here's what they looked like.

I got to try my new scallop punch (which some of you will be seing on my Christmas cards as well--I'm addicted to it). I scanned this adorable cookie from a cookie swap book I bought on ebay. The book was from Gooseberry Patch and had some terrific ideas and clip art to use (including the cookie on the invite). I made the boxes from a template I found cheap at Target when I was able to "get away" from the family on my own one night. I stamped with our artsy elements on the box and loved how it came out. Made the box from the Cha-Cha cardstock too.

I baked cookies to fit inside. LOL!!!!! (that's a story) and this is how it looked opened:

I was baking the cookies in the morning before I had to run out to eye therapy. I was talking to a couple friends while I was preparing the cookies. I wanted to make sure I made them big enough to fill the box without looking too small and corny. So, you know it, my blonde hair kicked in and between the blonde and the phone to my ear, I flattened the cookies TOO BIG for the box I had made. So, when crunch time came (45 min before I had to leave for the day) I went to put the cookies in and found out that they were too big. I was heartbroken to think I may not be able to use my cute little box invitations. Well necessity is the mother of invention and I remembered how long I had sat making those buggers. So an idea was born. I ripped into my cupboards and found a circle cookie cutter and cookie cuttered those babies to the size they needed to be. "Who in their right mind cookie cutters DROP COOKIES??????" The crazy blonde woman who would rather back MORE cookies that NOT use the cute invites she spent hours making. LOL!!!!!

So, I made my deadline and delivered the invites. Everyone loved them and peace once again reigned in the Johnson home. You will see evidence of my morning addiction in the back of the pictures (the bottom of my hot chocolate mug--can't make a day without it [unless I'm dieting]).

Where have I been?!?!?!?!?

I can't believe I have left you all hanging for almost 2 months. I've not inspired you or even tried to inspire you all with pictures of my lastest creations. What have I been up to?!?!?!? Well, let's be honest--the story of my whereabouts would be sooooo boring compared to being inspired with a couple of my latest creations. So we are going to give it up to the later and try to inspire you today.

So, Christmas is right around the corner. I can just feel your stress now. Do I make the Christmas cards? Do I stamps some gifts? Well, join the club--the same stress is in my head as well. LOL!!!!!! So, let's get right to the pictures and some descriptions about them.

First off, I entered some more contests that The Angel Company was having. I had such high hopes that they would look upon my paper creations an see brilliance and just deem the best in the category. Alas, this was not to happen. So, my creations have been photographed and are now going to be shared with you--all my fans (lol!).

These cards were created for TAC's demonstrator contests. They were entered in the "Terrific Trio" category. The rules for that category is to make three cards and all three cards must only use the same 2 stamp sets. So, you have to get creative--especially by the third card. I thought they were terrific, but they just didn't win the contest. Oh well, I know you all will enjoy them. I used the Swirly Gigs set along with the Bug Me Anytime set. I as usual tried to go all out with the embellishments. I believe you will see some of our Glaze gelly pens, brads, stickles. I tore paper, used my edge distresser to distress, inked the paper edges with ink, and had all kinds of fun. In fact, I was thinking it was my most "inspired" work in a long time.

So even though they didn't win, I still loved making them and it gave me the "push" I needed to get back into stamping and being inspired again.

Fall inspiration!!!

Here are a couple fall cards I created the other day. This first one is a scarecrow card I created. I really love how this one came out. I just had to reach for the cha-cha paper to create the strip on the bottom, the tag, and the tab. I was able to set one of the awesome huge circle coordinating eyelets in the tab and I believe the card came out terrific. It made me smile--and that's how I judge the finished product. If it makes me smile, it's a good creation.

The next card I created, I went with the richer fall colors. I used the Forget Not set from TAC. I also used one of my Kaleidacolor ink pads for all the different color affects on the leaves. Again, I ripped some paper and this time mounted folded ribbon behind it and created a ribbon affect. I like this card as well--another one to make me smile!

I've finally finished decorating my new

scrapbooking/stamping purse. I showed you the purse empty a while back, and have finally gotten around to decorating it. YIPEE!!! I wasn't sure if I'd like carrying it, but I do. As you can see, I've put my crazy kids on one side of the purse and my kids feet on the other side. I just love the look of feet with the piggies showing. :0) Please excuse the slight glare in the purse. I couldn't figure out how to get the picture without the light glaring off the plastic cover on the purse. But you can get the idea anyway.

I ended up using our new cha-cha paper with coordinating ribbon to make the border. I stamped with the coordinating salsa flowers set too. Then I used one of our Gift with purchase stamps to create the parenthesis and journaling lines. I love that free stamp--I think it's a real value. Anway, let me know what you think.

Cha Cha is HERE!!!

I have stamped again!!! That is an amazing thing. I just couldn't wait any longer to play with my new Cha Cha paper collection. I created this card in just a few minutes. I used the new Cha Cha paper, Cha Cha cardstock, Cha Cha hardware (which by the way contains awesome new designed eyelets), and the Cha Cha ribbon. Plus I stamped using the coordinating stamp set called Salsa Flowers. This was a fun project to make and I enjoyed employing my creativity skills once again. Sure beats the "insulating" skills I have been employing while working dilligently on the new addition on our house.

My newest project to try

I just received this goody in the mail the other day. It's my newest project to try. It's our new catalog and is called a Memory purse. This was the first project type product to catch my eye in the new catalog. Once I saw it, I knew I had to have it. This item makes a spectacular 1/2 price item for my hostesses. It has clear pockets on each side and can be filled with any type of paper crafting project. I intend to fill it with scrapbook pages or cards. It's a great way to show your creativity to others. You could also color coordinate it to match each and every outfit you wear. LOL!!! Plus there is no excuse for you to say you don't like the style of your purse. :0)

Summertime?!?!?!?

I thought I was going to stamp this summer. Well, here's a little peak into what's been happening at my house this summer. Looks like I've traded my ink and stamps in for some carpenters tools. Don't worry, I'm getting a brand new craft room (designed by ME) as a trade-off for all this work. this is the view from my staircase as of a few weeks ago. Last week, I became an electrician and got to wire almost ALL 30+ outlets that go into this new addition. I'm sooo proud because all by one of them WORKED!!!! This week though, I am nothing but a plain old insulation installer. And if that isn't itchy, hot, and boring!!!! Oh well, with the glory of a new "play" place for my stamps, comes a LOT of stinky jobs as well.

Enjoy the view, and I hope to stamp again SOON!!! I'm sure you don't want to look at my house project for much longer.

Yep, I'm posting three inspiring projects in one day. (that's to make up for the weeks I've missed in May). This card was created using some already made square cards my great friend Laurie picked up for me at the latest clearance at Joanne's. Thanks Laurie!!! So I decided to return the favor and make her a card from the pack and send it to her. You get to see the card I created for her. I know she won't mind me showing you. :0)

I used her premade card with the pinks, reds, hearts, and flowers. Then I added a simple stamped sheet of paper with TAC's mailbox set and sentiment. I inked the edges, colored in the mailbox with glaze gel pens, and finished it off with some cool ribbon and pretty brads.

When I was finished, it brought a smile to my face. That's my grading system. The cards either gets a smile or no smile. So this one definitely passed.

Enjoy the inspiration and pull out those pre-made cards and redesign them using your stamped images. No one will be any the wiser. :0)

This card was created with the specific purpose of using my lighthouse stamp. Once I stamped it on the page, I decided it needed some sky and beach. So I got my sponge and a piece of paper and made clouds by masking the white clouds with my piece of paper. Then I just sponged the sand. I used our great TAC paper as the background and finished it off with some brads. Oh yeah, I also ripped the bottom to give it a little more "style". I thought it came out very nice. :0)

So, I challenge you to pick out that one stamp you've never used and create a card with it today. Once you get going, you will be surprised that you really liked that one stamp after all, and that all you really needed for it was some inspiration.

This card was created with our retiring garden set. I love how it came out. I'm not usually one who puts tags on my cards, but thought this tag actually added to the card instead of taking away from it. I love the blue that I picked. The ribbon added a colorful touch. Just makes you want to go out and plant some flowers after you finish stamping today. :0)

Yikes!!! Has it been that long?!?!?

I'm back with the latest card to come out of my studio. This card was created for my last funshop. It was a fun time had by all. We played with all my toys, and I think the guests couldn't believe how many toys I could pull out of my carrying case. :0) As usual, the table was a mess by the time we finished, but everyone was smiling and carrying home their latest creations.

This card was created with the swirly gigs set, and Road to a friends as well. We matted the house, and colored it. Also outlined/shaded it with that terrific grey marker (a stampers secret weapon). Then we folded the top of our matting down over the house, and held it in place with one of TAC's Sonic Bloom brads. Those things are absolutlely adorable in person. Oh yes, can't forget to mention that we colored and added "Bling" to our cards with the ever versatile Stickles. (Another secret weapon).

This card was a lot of fun to make, and it looks complicated to boot. Go ahead and steal my idea and try a sparkly card today!!

April Showers are bringing - SNOW!!!

What better things to do while the snow falls, then to get out your stamping stuff and try a new project. :0) Here's one of my latest. I made this as a congrats card for my sister in law who just told us she was pregnant with #4. How awesome is that. So I stamped up this card.

I used one of my newest favorite stamp set. It just came out in our spring supplement. It's called swirly gigs. At first I thought it may not quite be my style, but when I stamped with it I realized it is EVERYONE'S style. I tend to be kind of simple and retro/funky when it comes to stamping. I thought the set looks more victorian. Well, I was wrong. The set can be stamped and colored to fit ANY style of stamping you are trying to achieve.

I also used that pregnancy set I love to use. I also did paper piecing with our Little Whimsy paper. Put some sparkly stickles on the card and my favorite brads. I love how it came out.

So, steal my idea and go and stamp something for fun today!!!

Let's think Spring!

This project has a ring of Spring to it. :0) I started out with our Four seasons set and used the "spring" tree. Then colored it with Prismacolor pencils. Next I matted it and distressed the edges. Can't forget that I used Matchmakers cardstock and stamped some fancy "stitching" onto the side of my matting. I stamped from our Sweet Sayings set so it would say Thank You. Then I tied some gorgeous ribbon to a paper clip and "decorated" the matted section with it--yep, that's my ribbon club coming up again!!!

Pretty simple project, but a nice touch of spring. Would be a great idea for those thank you's to send to your friends during this time of year. :0)

No longer MIA!!

Wow, it's been a while since I've shared with you. Sorry for the delay. I had the pictures taken and ready to go, but just didn't go. :0) The project I am sharing with you today brings a smile to my face. I created it having a flower theme in mind. For those of you who know me--flowers are not my strong point. They are not the first thing I reach for in my craft closet. So this was a stretch for me.

I used TAC's excluse paper--the Whimsy blossom line. I cut out the flowers and mounted them on white cardstock matted on matchmakers cardstock. Then I stamped little words around the flowers with reflection blue ink. I also tried my hand at those loopy brads that are all the rage.

Just a little side note about loopy brads.--My friend and neighbor just LOVES those things. She talks about how she loves to use them, and she does a terrific job using them. Personally for me, loopy brads are one of those "patience trying" embellishments. You all know what I mean. It's like this. If you get them mounted on your project and get the stuff "looped" through them to boot, and you don't THROW them on the floor in disgust instead--you are a patient person. It's a little secret "test" in the paper crafting trade. So although I used them, I almost failed the test. :0) But don't tell ayone--it will be our little secret. LOL!!!!!

I looped some terrific ribbon from my --you guessed it-- ribbon club. And yes, that is double sided ribbon. Gorgeous stuff!

I love how it came out. I thought it a great effort in the flower field for me--Miss Flower Challenged.

Mini scrapbook page!

This Scrapbook page was made by the people who attended my last funshop. I'm planning to possibly use it again for my next funshop this week. It's a 6x6 layout. I picked this size for sake of supplies, but this layout could be expanded to fit almost any scrapbook size. I call it the "B" page. And then we added the "Just Because" saying to emphasize the "B" element. Get it--B which sound like BE! I know it's a little Corny, but I liked the idea. Actually we have a whole set of "Be" stamps in our catalog, and I was wishing I had the set when I was creating this layout. In fact, it's now on my wish list because I like it so much. We started with a 6x6 piece of black cardstock. We used the handy edge distresser (love that thing) and distressed the edges. We matted a white piece of cardstock onto a blue piece and left the matting long on the right hand side so we could use first sand it down to show the white core of the paper and then we used that great stitch set and added some stitching character to the picture matting. We took a "B" sticker from one of the soar with it collections and stuck it onto that beautiful cardstock from the Caitlyn collection and cut it out. We removed the sticker from the cardstock after we traced. The sticker wasn't overly sticky, so we could do that. Then after we cut out the "B", we inked up the edges to distress it a little, and to "hide" any imperfections we may have created when we cut it out. :0) I'm ALL about hiding the mistakes and making the eyes drift right over the little details on my projects. It's all in tricking the eyes. LOL!!!

We stamped our saying onto another piece of white cardstock and stapled it into place using colored staples. LOVE those as well. And we assembled the whole page. To add another decorative dimension, we took plain old white paper clips from any office supply store, and tied colorful ribbon on the edge, and then "clipped" it into the picture matting element. It adds a fun and "cheap" element to the page. I'm all about cheap as well. LOL!!!!

Here's another project I tried. I was going to a doodling affect. I don't know if I reached it or not. :0)

I used the Road to a Friends set and colored the designs in with my prismacolor pencils. I tried the white pencil to add shading to my purple flowers. It gave them a "swirled" look that I really like. I also picked up my Edge Distresser again and distressed the edges. I copied a technique off of one of my customer's contest cards. She cut slits into her card to put the string on to keep it in place. I decided to cut slits in the card to hold the gold thread in place. Thanks for the tip!

I also copied a card design I had seen online. It adds a little more pop to the card to have that little black flap of paper folded over and held down with a brad. I've been trying that technique in my "bag of tricks".

So I hope this gets your own creative juices flowing and gets you to go and create something with doodles as well.

Let's inspire the scrapbookers too!

I have a funshop this weekend, and we will be Scrapbooking!!! I'm excited to get at that side of my paper crafting again. I just thought since I'm in scrapbook mode, I'd share with you a page I just created for a contest. I entered this combo in what is called a card to crop contest. This means that you take a card design and make a scrapbook page using inspiration from the card design. I decided to use this birthday card and scrapbook a page using that design. I love how it came out. :0) You could say that it's definitely got "my style" written all over it.

I used one of our hostess sets and colored it with Prismacolor colored pencils. Then I matted it on Matchmakers cardstock and mounted it all and dressed it up with some brads. It's a simple design, but I think it pops enough to make it a great page. I have my fingers crossed on whether I will win with it or not. :0) Even if it doesn't win, I'll still be able to inspire you to scrapbook because of it!

I decided to post yet another project I have done. This was a swap card I did for a swap I was in. The challenge was to use our new TAC papers on a card. I decided to use Uptown Girl. I just LOVE the pinks and blacks. It makes me smile. :0)

So I got out my Big Shot die cut machine--I just LOVE that thing too! I decided to cut out a triangle tab and adhere it on the black square of paper with some pretty pink brads. Tied some pink and black ribbon on the tab. Then I used one of our new hostess sets calle Petal Pack and created the flower. I cut it out and glazed it with our crystal lacquer so it shines!!! I also distressed the base piece of black cardstock with our Edge Distresser. It gave it some nice character. :0)

I was pleased with the look! In fact, I love the look of it. I hope it inspires you to get our your new products and create today too!!!

I'm back with my inspired creation

Sorry it took me so long to return. I sat down and was inspired with the ribbon, but then didn't post anything to show you. So here is my inspired piece. I call him "Orange Cat". My daughter tells me he is too orange, but I like him. I'm a very monochromatic stamper and scrapbooker. "Orange Cat" makes me smile, and that's what counts for me. :0)

I tried a new technique. I've been seeing a lot of people using circles in their backgrounds for their cards and such. So I went to use a circle, but didn't have my coluzzle system with me. So I traced my palette ink pad and cut out the paper to that shape. I thought it gave a the card a funky oval type feel to it. I sanded the matchmakers cardstock to show the white core, and distressed around Mr. Cat to give it depth. Finished it off with some of our brads.

I loved putting on the printed ric rac to dress it up as well. I was happy with the results and can't wait to play with more of the ribbon.

Right now, I'm working on my next stamping party. I'm very excited! I've been planning the projects and all the great products I'm going to get to share about--and USE!!! That's the best part!!! Playing with all our great products. I'm planning to show our Tray Chic, and gelly pens, stitches set, sanding blocks, and the list just keeps growing. I'm picking a lot of my favorite products--because I love what I do. Want to see my favorite products? Click on this. I just had to share with you all what came in my mailbox today. I have subscribed to a friend of mine's ribbon club. She sends out assortments once a month. I have to tell you she inspires me every month. These ribbons come all neat and organized with little paper slips to hold them together. She slips them in a clear envelope which helps keep them together as I use them. I think this woman is VERY patient to sit and wrap up all these ribbons to neatly. She really loves ribbon and cares to give us a terrific, neatly organized assortment every time. When I saw this assortment it made me smile-- as usual. :0) I hope it inspires you as well. Think of the possibilities that can be created with red and orange ribbons! I will have to hit the craft closet and share with you what I come up with. Stay tuned to see what it inspires me to create.

Friday project

It's Friday already and I just had to share with you the latest thing I've stamped. I designed this card yesterday. It's very simple. Although it is simple, it still is nice enough to send to a friend to help brighten their day. I used one of our new Gift With Purchase stamps from TAC. I added some color to the lady with our awesome Gelly pens. I love those things!!!! I also jazzed up the card front by stamping with our new stitches set. It gives the card a "sewn" affect. I was surprised with how adorable that lady is when she is stamped out on paper. She looks cute in our brochure, but I think she looks even better stamped. I hope I have inspired you to get out your stamps and play today. Enjoy and be inspired to CREATE!!!!!

Happy Saturday! It's still cold out and a terrific day to stamp! Just wanted to share my latest project with you. I made this calendar cover to give to my next hostess. My goal is to send something that she will want to "show off" to her friends to help get them interested in coming to the party. I picked up some 2 year calendars at the old Big Lots yesterday and decided to alter them. For this one I used with TAC's Uptown Girl paper collection. I've been using that collection a lot lately, probably because it's so girly and has a definite Valentine's Day theme to it. I put a piece of Uptown Girl on the cover of the calendar and then added that black strip of cardstock with all that awesome funky ribbon attached to the back of it so it flares out the side and gives it some depth. Took another piece of the paper and cut out the "N" out of it. Then decided to glitter it up a little and so I used my embossing pen and went around the edges and used Gold embossing powder and embossed it. You can't see that part very well in the picture, but it's there. Gave it a nice "wow" look! I love how it came out. So what are you going to stamp today? Ever try altering anything? It's easy! Let's see if we can give you some inspiration today. I got to working around in my craft "closet" the other night and came up with this adorable valentine card. I had so much fun making this. I used my Valentine stamps from The Angel Company and also used their new stitch set. I've fallen in love with that set. To think that I can make people think I have SEWN on my cards is awesome. Especially since I only ever sew when I'm forced to. :0) That ribbon is so fun and funky. I used hot pinks and brown in all different sizes and styles. Got to use my new sanding blocks and sanded that matchmakers cardstock before I put it on the card. I was inspired when I finished. I hope you are also now that you've seen this card! Ok, I'm going to try to step into the current century and try this thing called a Blog. I've seen several and have received my inspiration from a fellow demonstrator with my company. My hobbies that I love are papercrafting. My particular favorites are stamping and scrapbooking! I plan to use this blog to journal my projects and new finds with my hobby. I hope to take pictures of the things I make and give tips on the new things I learn. Also don't forget those new products I try. :0) I'm hoping to make all these things available for my customers and friends. Maybe they will receive inspiration to try something new--just like I have received from the blogs I have checked out!
